Once dubbed ‘Michigan’s Most Skiable Area,’ Timberlee Hills has since been transformed from the bustling 1970s Leelanau County ski hill into today’s top affordable wedding venue and family-friendly snow tubing hill.
What began as our own wedding venue search quickly turned into a passion for this special place. We fell in love with the spectacular views and it was easy to see the endless possibilities here. So when Timberlee Hills was put up for sale in 2017, we knew it was fate.
After lots of hard work and plenty of elbow grease, we opened the doors to host our own family and friends here for our wedding day. It was magical to watch our guests enjoy Timberlee Hills and it affirmed our desire to do the same for others.
As the temperatures dipped, we turned our focus and embraced what comes no matter what in northern Michigan: WINTER! We tinkered with equipment and made several improvements before welcoming hundreds of fun-seeking visitors to our snow tubing hill. What a thrill to watch those first tubers coming down the slope!
Today, we’re even more excited to be keeping this place a vibrant part of our Leelanau & Grand Traverse County communities. And while we’ve got some exciting plans up our sleeves for the future, we’ll never lose focus of what’s most important: YOU.
